Our First Cricket Club

Cricket Clubbers from left to right: Jackie, Wendy, Christa, Gail, and Nan

I hope everyone who came last night had as much fun as I did. It was just a joy to talk weaving. Our evening was pretty free wheeling, ranging from: sharing weaving, talking about sett and drafts, to answering questions about double weave, ideas for designing in the reed, ways to use a yummy yarn to show it off, plus a bit of weaving basics for our special friend from Iowa, Jackie, who is just now exploring weaving and looking forward to taking her first class.

It was a pretty informal evening but that’s the whole idea. I left energized from all the new-weaver enthusiasm. Thanks to Jackie, Wendy, Gail, Nan, and Christa for gamely coming to our first meeting. Our next Cricket Club meets at Shuttles on August 18th. Hope to see you then.
