Quarter 1 Employee Honors

While celebrating our 50th anniversary, we’d be remiss to not spend time talking about the employees who help make our products. We have around 45 employees here, with experience ranging from a couple of years to over 30! Our employees come from all over the world, and those diverse backgrounds keep our factory dynamic. Every quarter, we will be highlighting the employees who are celebrating their own Schacht anniversaries, along with some facts about them.

1 year, Project Manager

She came to Schacht in 2018 to work on a special project for the company website, then took on project manager duties. Deb has played with textile arts (sewing, knitting, spinning, and weaving) since she was a teenager. When she’s not at work or playing with textiles, Deb enjoys cooking, DIY home improvement projects, reading, and napping with her many cats.

4 years, Assembly

She joined Schacht in 2015 and usually works in Mirrycle, though she also helps out in Assembly and the oil room when needed.

Outside of work, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family. She takes them to the movies or the mountains for family excursions.

Production Team

1 year, Production

Manyi joined the production department in spring 2018, where she specializes in woodworking and oiling. Table saws, band saws, and especially the lathes are her favorite tools.

A passion for woodworking drives Manyi. She makes furniture and jewelry, works leather, and paints on exotic woods.

5 years, Production

Jamie began working in the production department at Schacht in 2014. At the time, he hadn’t built things before and didn’t know anything about fiber arts equipment. He learned through hands-on training and now enjoys woodworking.

7 years, Assembly
Xai was born in Laos and came to the United States with her brother in 1980. She’s lived in Colorado since 1983, where she and her husband moved shortly after their marriage.

13 years, Assembly

Adan assembled Ladybugs until he became responsible for Flip and Cricket looms.

Outside of work, Adan spends time with Maria, whom he met here at Schacht. His hobbies include karate and miniature-building. Recently, he created an entire mini room filled with tiny versions of Schacht products.

Office and Shipping

9 years, Sales Manager

Judy came to Schacht in 2010 as shipping manager, then moved into Sales around 2012.

Judy learned to weave in college; she fell in love with it right away. Her first effort at spinning, when she was in her 20s, was not a match made in heaven, but six years ago she tried again and now owns several wheels. Judy will continue to play in the textile arts, along with gardening and bookbinding.

2 years, Accounting

Since she came to work at Schacht Spindle Company in 2017, Denise handles Mirrycle customer service, accounting, and custom imprint bells. She helps Schacht dealer accounts and answers questions that dealers might have about their accounts.

13 years, Assembly

Around 1997 or 1998, Martha came to work for Schacht. Since then, she’s done it all: Mirrycle, Assembly, and Production—everything except Spinning. Martha is our resident expert on the Table Loom.

Martha’s interests include music, food, and television. She also spends a lot of time with her family.
