Texsolv apron cords attach apron bars to the cloth beam, warp beam, or second warp beam (part of a double back beam kit).

Choosing Apron Cords

Choose the cord type and quantity based on your loom/double back beam and the way its apron bars are attached. Schacht products use one of two methods:

  • Multiple short cords hang straight from the beam to the apron bar.
  • One long cord is held against the beam with a 1/4" dowel, then the cord loops around the apron bar.

one short cord per hole

  • 29" cords for Wolf looms in maple, built after Oct. 1, 1999
  • 42" cords for Wolf double back beams in maple, built after Oct. 1, 1999
  • 33" cords for Standard Floor looms in maple, built after Oct. 1, 1999
  • 48" cords for Standard double back beams, in maple or cherry, built after Oct. 1, 1999

These cords are sold in packs of 5. You'll need 1 cord per hole in your cloth and warp beams:

  • Wolf Pup, LT, and 8.10 have 4 holes per beam
  • Baby Wolf has 5 holes per beam
  • Mighty Wolf has 7 holes per beam
  • 36" Standard Floor Loom has 7 holes per beam
  • 45" Standard Floor Loom has 9 holes per beam

Looms and double back beams, in any wood, built before Oct. 1, 1999, originally came with black cord. We no longer carry this black cord. Choose the appropriate short cord for your product and see special installation instructions in the FAQ.

One Long Cord Per Beam

  • 144" cord for original Wolf Pup, Wolf Pup LT, Wolf Pup 8.10, or Wolf Pup double back beam in cherry (makes 3 loops over the apron bar)
  • 252" cord for Baby Wolf or double back beam in cherry (makes 4 loops)
  • 360" cord for Mighty Wolf loom or double back beam in cherry (makes 6 loops)
  • 360" cord for 36" Standard Floor Loom in cherry (makes 6 loops)
  • 480" cord for 45" Standard Floor Loom in cherry (makes 8 loops)

These cords are sold in packs of 2.

Still need help?

  • If you have the Texsolv apron cords for your loom/double back beam, measure the length (it's okay to estimate) and count the number that came with the product. Choose the closest match from the options above. It's better to overestimate the length, than to underestimate: the apron bars have to go up and over the front beam, back beam, or double back beam.
  • If your loom/double back beam came with a 1/4" dowel, buy the long apron cords.
  • If your loom/double back beam came with black nylon cords, or if it has pairs of holes in the beam, buy the short cords and see the special installation instructions in the FAQ.
