This method will work on all Schacht wood products, whether they're made of plywood or solid wood, oiled or unoiled. There's just one exception: for lacquered boat shuttles, you need to remove the lacquer first.
Do not use this method on plastic or any material that isn't wood.
You will need
- an iron
- a damp cloth
- fine grit sandpaper
DO NOT SAND the dented, scuffed, or scratched area yet.
- Allow the iron to heat on the linen setting.
- Place the damp cloth over the dent/scuff/scratch, right on the wood.
- Set the hot iron on the cloth and let it rest for a few seconds.
- Check to see if the dent/scuff/scratch is still visible. If it has not, repeat Step 3 until the wood "pulls up" and sits just above the wood's surface. The process takes longer for oiled wood than for unoiled wood.
- Lightly sand down the repaired area.
