Description
Description
In weft-faced weaving, the warp yarns (the ones on the loom) are completely covered by the weft yarn. Weft-faced weaves are thick and sturdy and often used to weave rugs, runners, and tapestries. In this course, you’ll learn about choosing the warp and weft yarn, the relationship between the two, and how to create patterns by how you weave the weft colors. We’ll practice how to manage several shuttles and colors at once for tidy selvedges. After mastering weft-faced plain weaving, we’ll explore clasped weft, picked-up loops, and rya.
