Description

Long draw. Onlookers gasp when they see it. Spinners love it for making lofty, low-twist yarns. If you're intimidated by it, join us for a Spin-along on YouTube and our website. Stephanie's tips will have you drawing like a master.

Materials needed
  • 4 oz fiber braid. We're using a 50/50 silk merino blend from Lisa Souza Dyeworks. You can use any short- to medium-length fiber in any prep you prefer. Carded preps may be preferable if you're new to long draw.

Is this course for you?

If you're comfortable with worsted drafted methods, but haven't gone very far with woolen ones, this course will help you get comfortable with them.

Stephanie Flynn

Stephanie has a degree in Retail Merchandising from Rochester Community and Technical College, and a degree in Accessory Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is a Schacht girl through and through. Name a Schacht product, and chances are she spins or weaves on it! Stephanie returned to Schacht in 2020 (after a few years away) as a Sales Specialist.
