Description

A heddle regulates the height of a warp thread on the loom. Each heddle has an eye in the center through which the warp thread passes. Texsolv heddles come in bundles of 100, held together with twist ties for easy mounting and organization on the shafts.

To measure the length of a heddle, insert sticks between the loops and stretch the heddle taut. Measure with a steel measuring tape.

NOTE: White (undyed) heddles come with twist ties in different colors for different sizes—you'll see the twist tie colors listed on the heddles chart. Louët also sells heddles made in different colors of Texsolv, marked with * on the heddles chart.

Measuring heddles

  • Inserted eye

Heddles must fit on the upper and lower heddle bars of your loom's shafts (harnesses).

For metal inserted eye heddles, you need the center to center length.

  • Texsolv

Heddles must fit on the upper and lower heddle bars of your loom's shafts (harnesses).

Measure between the cutting loops. Heddles need to fit on the heddle bars without sagging. If heddles are a little too long—up to 2 mm—they will work.
