Measure the length of the spring and write down this number—it will help you reset the brake to the proper tension.
Remove the brake eye bolt and its washer from the brake barrel nut.
Unhook the old brake spring from the brake bar.
Hook the new brake spring to the brake bar.
Attach the brake eye bolt and its washer to the brake spring. Keep tightening the eye bolt until the spring reaches its old measurement.
Test the friction action: stand at the back of the loom and try to turn the warp beam away from you with both hands. If the warp beam turns, tighten the eye bolt.
