Includes quick release lever, knob, and washers. The Matchless has one quick release lever. The Sidekick has two quick release levers for the front maiden and rear maiden.
Fits all Sidekick wheels and all Matchless wheels with the new mother-of-all (MOA). For Matchless wheels with the older MOA and T-knob, this part replaces the T-knob.
Quick release levers are simple to install and to adjust. This lever does not fit Flatiron spinning wheels.
How to Install
Matchless front maiden
If necessary, remove the old quick release lever: Open the lever and unscrew the knob. Remove the knob and washer, then slide the lever shaft out of the MOA.
If necessary, remove the T-knob: Unscrew the T-knob on the MOA. Remove it and the two washers from the bolt. If your wheel has a bolt screwed into a bronze insert, remove the bolt. Do not remove the bronze insert.
Push the new quick release lever shaft all the way through the front maiden and the MOA. Replace the washer and knob on the end of the shaft and tighten the knob until there is about 1/8" of space between the lever and the wheel side. Close the quick release lever.
The knob should be just tight enough to need firm pressure to close the lever. If the lever closes loosely, open the lever, tighten the knob slightly, and close the lever again. If the lever requires a lot of pressure to close, loosen the knob slightly.
Sidekick front maiden and rear maiden
Open the quick release lever and unscrew the knob. Remove the knob and washer, then slide the lever shaft out of the wheel sides and maiden.
Set the new maiden in place, aligning its holes with the holes in the wheel sides. The logo on the front maiden should be at the front of the wheel. The flat face of the rear maiden should be at the back of the wheel.
Push the quick release lever shaft all the way through the wheel sides and maiden. Replace the washer and knob on the end of the shaft.
Tighten the knob until there is about 1/8" of space between the lever and the wheel side. Close the quick release lever.
The knob should be just tight enough to need firm pressure to close the lever. If the lever closes loosely, open the lever, tighten the knob slightly, and close the lever again. If the lever requires a lot of pressure to close, loosen the knob slightly.
