Ratchet dogs and ratchet gears always go together on the Cricket Loom, Flip Loom, Table Loom, and Arras Beam Kit.

  • 10" and 15" Cricket Looms have two ratchet dogs—one for the cloth beam and one for the warp beam.
  • 15" and 20" Flip Looms have two ratchet dogs—one for the cloth beam and one for the warp beam.
  • 25" and 30" Flip Looms have four ratchet dogs—two for the cloth beam and two for the warp beam.
  • Table Looms have two ratchet dogs—one for the cloth beam and one for the warp beam.
  • Arras Beam Kits have four ratchet dogs—two for the cloth beam and two for the warp beam.
How to Install

Installation for Cricket and Flip: You will need a 7/16" or adjustable wrench and a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

  • For all Flip looms and for Crickets with their gears and ratchet dogs on the outside: Remove the old ratchet dog and its hardware by holding the lock nut inside the loom with the wrench as you unscrew the screw with the screwdriver. Orient the new ratchet dog so its teeth will catch the ratchet gear; attach with the screw and lock nut, placing the lock nut inside the loom.
  • For Crickets with their gears and ratchet dogs on the inside of the loom: Remove the old ratchet dog and its hardware by holding the lock nut outside the loom with the wrench as you unscrew the screw with the screwdriver. Orient the new ratchet dog so its teeth will catch the ratchet gear; attach with the screw and lock nut, placing the lock nut outside the loom.

Installation for Table Loom: Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw holding the old ratchet dog on the loom. Orient the new ratchet dog so its teeth will catch the ratchet gear; attach with the screw.

Installation for Arras Beam Kit: Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a wrench, remove the screw, washer, and lock nut holding the old ratchet dog on the base or warp beam riser. Orient the new ratchet dog so its teeth will catch the ratchet gear. Insert the screw from the inner side of the beam kit; add a washer on the outer side and attach with the lock nut.
