We recommend not attaching the cords to treadles until you need them—they can lose their spring if they're attached all the time. If you notice that your loom's shafts are floating, attach one cord to each treadle.

1. Pull up on each treadle aid cord so there is slack at the top.
2. Slide the old dowel out from its place on top of the treadle aid bar.
3. Slide the new dowel under the treadle aid cords. Tug on each cord to eliminate slack.
