Trestle Stand Hardware for Original Tapestry Loom

Includes propeller nuts, T-knobs, carriage bolts, round knobs and spacers to install the original Tapestry Loom. We stopped including this hardware with the Trestle Stand in October 2022.

Probably fits all Trestle I Stands, but the stand has changed dramatically over the years.

May fit Trestle II Stands (sold to accompany our original rigid heddle loom).

Read before ordering

You will need a drill with a 5/16" bit and a hammer to install this kit.

How to install

Install the propeller nuts

  1. On the loom sides, locate the holes about 10" above the bottom bar (see the tapestry loom assembly manual).
  2. On both sides of the loom, ream out the hole using a 5/16" drill bit.
  3. From the inside of the loom, insert the propeller nuts into the holes. Tap them into place with a hammer.

Install the loom on the stand

  1. From the inside of the loom, push a 1/4-20 x 2-1/2" carriage bolt through the hole in the middle of the loom side.
  2. With a hammer, tap the carriage bolt into the wood.
  3. Loosely fasten a T-knob to the bolt.
    Repeat for the other side.
  4. Slide the T-knobs into the slots in the tops of the uprights.

Attach adjuster arms to the loom

  1. Push a round knob with a 2-1/2" shaft through the hole in the adjuster bar.
  2. Place a nylon spacer on the threaded part of the knob.
  3. Fasten the knob into the insert in the side of the loom.
  4. Repeat for other adjuster bar.
