Counterbalance Loom

Counterbalance Loom

We released this loom in 1982 and discontinued it in 1999. We offered it in maple, oak, and cherry at various times, in 36" and 45" weaving widths. Many parts were identical to a high castle Standard Floor Loom with 4 shafts and 6 treadles. Shafts hung from a set of rollers at the top of the castle.

We no longer offer repair parts or product support for this loom, because we have little information about it. The image below is the best one we have.

What's the difference between the original Wolf Pup, the Wolf Pup LT, and the Wolf Pup 8.10?

  • Original Wolf Pup

The original Wolf Pup does not have jacks and lamms. Each of its shafts has a Texsolv cord connected to a treadle. If you want to raise more than one shaft, you must press more than one treadle. Look for 4 treadles and 4 shafts with metal rods (silver or black).

  • Wolf Pup LT

The Wolf Pup LT has 4 shafts with lamms so you can tie up multiple shafts to a single treadle. Look for 6 treadles and 4 shafts with metal rods (silver or black) and lamms (pieces of wood with holes in them for tie-up cords).

  • Wolf Pup 8.10

The Wolf Pup 8.10 has 8 shafts with jacks and lamms so you can tie up multiple shafts to a single treadle. Look for 10 treadles and 8 shafts with jacks and lamms.
