Bronze orifice bearings, installed on all Matchless wheels made before October 2023, are no longer available. If your wheel currently has a bronze bearing, the plastic bearing will not fit. You will need to replace the front maiden.

Front maidens are sold fully assembled, with the plastic bearing installed. See below to choose the correct maiden for your wheel.

Lead Time
  • Most orders will ship within 2 weeks. Orders for floor looms and spinning wheels will ship within 9 weeks.

Read before ordering

Bronze and plastic bearings are not interchangeable in the regular front maiden! The plastic bearings require a larger hole!

  • If the front maiden attaches to the mother of all (MOA) with a T knob, choose "front maiden for T knob."
  • If the front maiden attaches to the mother of all (MOA) with a quick release lever, choose "front maiden for quick release."

Once the front maiden has been replaced to the style designed for plastic bearings, you can replace just the bearing, sold here.

How to install

To install the front maiden, remove the old front maiden's T knob or quick release lever. Set the new front maiden in position. Reinstall the T knob or quick release lever.
