Course Description

Learn to weave on a rigid heddle loom and make a scarf! A rigid heddle loom is a simple loom that is easy to set up and use. In this introductory class, you’ll learn what a loom is and how to set it up. We'll practice weaving plain weave and learn to use a pick-up stick to expand the potential of the loom.

If you're interested in rigid heddle weaving, you're ready. No weaving experience necessary! We'll start with basics, like the parts of a loom and how to warp it.

What You'll Need

Price includes yarn and use of the loom for the duration of the course.

  • rigid heddle loom—we'll use Cricket looms, which include an 8-dent reed, heddle hook, stick shuttles, and a warping peg

Meet Your Instructor

Stephanie Flynn

Stephanie has a degree in Retail Merchandising from Rochester Community and Technical College, and a degree in Accessory Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is a Schacht girl through and through. Name a Schacht product, and chances are she spins or weaves on it! Stephanie returned to Schacht in 2020 (after a few years away) as a Sales Specialist.
